Whether malleable cast iron parts can do a good job of anti-corrosion will play a vital role in the project, which will not only affect the quality of the entire project, but also affect the progress of the project. Generally speaking, if malleable cast iron parts can pay attention to anti-corrosion, their service life can reach 50 years. So how should malleable cast iron parts do a good job of anti-corrosion measures?
1. Add anti-corrosion coating to the inner wall: In order to prevent corrosion of malleable cast iron pipes, reduce friction resistance and increase throughput, a thin film can be applied to the inner wall of malleable cast iron pipes. Commonly used coatings are amine-cured epoxy resins and polyamide epoxy resins, with a coating thickness of 0.038~0.2mm. In order to ensure that the coating is firmly bonded to the pipe wall, the inner wall of the pipe should be surface treated.
2. Add insulation coating to the outer wall: In order to reduce the large amount of heat loss during the use of malleable cast iron pipes, a layer of insulation coating can be added to the outer wall. The commonly used insulation coating material is hard polyurethane foam, which is suitable for temperatures of -185~95℃. This material is soft in texture. In order to increase its strength, a layer of high-density polyethylene is added to the insulation layer to form a composite material structure to prevent groundwater from penetrating into the insulation layer.
In fact, the application range of malleable cast iron pipes is relatively wide. It is mainly suitable for the construction of equipment pipelines in industrial buildings. During the construction process, malleable cast iron pipes will experience inner wall corrosion and outer wall corrosion under the action of electrochemistry. According to the form of pipeline corrosion, it can also be divided into overall corrosion and local corrosion. According to the corrosion process of the pipeline, it can be divided into chemical corrosion and electrochemical corrosion. In order to improve the corrosion resistance of malleable cast iron pipes, it is usually necessary to carry out anti-corrosion treatment on the pipeline before use. At the same time, it is also necessary to pay attention to reducing the concentration of pipeline corrosive media as much as possible during use to prevent the corrosion of malleable cast iron pipes from deepening.
In addition, the selection of anti-corrosion materials is also very important when carrying out anti-corrosion treatment of malleable cast iron pipes, which will directly affect the quality of pipeline anti-corrosion. Therefore, when carrying out anti-corrosion treatment, suitable anti-corrosion materials must be selected to ensure the anti-corrosion effect. Generally, the anti-corrosion materials used for malleable cast iron pipes during anti-corrosion are mainly the following:
1.3PE anti-corrosion materials. This type of anti-corrosion material is mainly polyethylene and polypropylene. Of course, it can also be replaced by epoxy resin anti-corrosion materials. The malleable cast iron pipes are treated with epoxy resin composite coatings, phenolic epoxy coatings and polymer composite materials.
2. Epoxy coal tar anti-corrosion materials. The main materials used for this type of anti-corrosion materials are asphalt anti-corrosion coatings and polypropylene non-woven fabrics. If the anti-corrosion treatment requirements are not very strict, cement mortar can also be selected to perform anti-corrosion treatment on malleable cast iron pipes through the sealing of cement mortar.
3. Malleable cast iron pipes can also be treated with anti-corrosion wrapping tapes. This type of tape generally includes polyethylene anti-corrosion tapes, polypropylene reinforced fiber anti-corrosion tapes, and aluminum foil anti-ultraviolet anti-corrosion tapes.
